A little story off this flag:

Since 1492 in the banner of the Catholic Monarchs included together the elements used until then, the flag of Grenada Entada tip and the Eagle of St. John for support. The Conquest of Granada (2-R-1492) adds a new symbol to the shield, the Granada pointed, and the incorporation of Navarre, on the occasion of the second marriage of Ferdinand II "the Catholic" with Germaine de Foix (1488-1538 ) achieved the ultimate unity of Spain and entered the chains on a red field. Is completed by the emblems of both: the yoke of Ferdinand and Isabella the five arrows, with the legend "Both rides" and everything about the eagle of St. John the Evangelist, all as reflected in the Concord of Segovia.
