Madrid Flag

The story:

The flag of the Community of Madrid is regulated in Article 2 of Law 2/1983 of 23 December describing the flag, coat of arms and anthem of that region. 

It is crimson red (castellanidad expressing their essential trait) with seven white five-pointed star in the center of it, arranged in two rows, four up and three down.The ratio is two wide and three long. 

Each star represents each of the stars of the constellation Ursa Major which is clipped on the Guadarrama mountains dominate, so the sky of the land that formed the old Madrid Council, created in the time of the Reconquista and occupied the territory south of the mountain and reached to the river Tagus. 

The shield of the city of Madrid will collect these seven stars on a blue background, now we can see is a blue band with the seven stars that surround the figure of the Great Bear in the Arbutus in the current coat of the capital.
