A bit of History

The age of the Swedish flag could not be determined accurately. It documented the use of a blue cloth with a yellow cross as a symbol from the sixteenth century. According to a royal decree of 1569, the yellow cross was always included in the Swedish teach, as the shield of the king had a golden cross between blue fields. The model of the flag was actually the Danish flag, coming probably also the colors of the shield of the sovereign. The first tests of the use of blue and yellow crucifer taught in Swedish ships are, however, the third decade of the seventeenth century, that is, the reign of Gustav II Adolf.According to the Flags Act oldest in Sweden, in 1663, was taught to use a three-point, except in merchant ships, whose flag was straight boundary.During the years between 1844 and 1905, the vessels of the merchant marine used a flag which combined the colors of the flags of Norway and Sweden, then together.
